Week of April 28-May 2

Monday, April 28:
  • Begin watching Romeo and Juliet in class.  Critique the movie internally as you view the film; this will help you on an upcoming journal assignment to be given after we finishing watching.
  • Fiction Friday this week!
Tuesday, April 29:
  • Discuss Grammar Bowl (during 4th hour on Monday, May 5) and take student volunteers (need 6 total)
  • Continue watching Romeo and Juliet
Wednesday, April 30:
  • Finish watching Romeo and Juliet
  • Discuss the movie
Thursday, May 1:
  • Work on the Romeo and Juliet film review assignment.  This should be a critical review of the movie with comparisons to the play.  You are required to write 1-2 pages.  Due tomorrow.
Friday, May 2:
  • Turn in film reviews
  • Fiction Friday #4:
    • Read your choice book. Continue to do so even after you finish your reading log.
    • Complete your reading log: write one summary paragraph, one analytic paragraph, and one personal reaction paragraph. Follow the directions on the handout given to you. This is due at the end of the hour.

Monday, April 14:
  • Rough Draft due today - self-editing in class
  • MLA Header/Heading and EasyBib review
  • Save your stamped rough draft for Wednesday!  This is worth 10 points of your final grade.
  • Non-Fiction Thursday this week!
  • Essay due on Wednesday
Tuesday, April 15:
  • Computer lab time to edit essays.  Find your non-fiction article and complete the write if you finish your essay in class.
Wednesday, April 16:
  • Turn in Romeo and Juliet Argumentative Essay
  • Romeo and Juliet Quote Scavenger Hunt - extra credit
Thursday, April 17:
  • Non-Fiction Friday (Thursday) #3:
    • Write responses to the questions (listed on the handout) for your article (15 mins)
    • Whole-class discussion on a chosen student's article. You must speak at least once in order to receive full credit for the discussion portion of your grade.
Friday, April 18:
  • No school - have a great Spring Break! :)

  • HW:  Continue working on your shaping sheets for the essay
Wednesday, April 9:
  • Romeo and Juliet Final Discussion
  • Continue working on your shaping sheets for the essay
Thursday, April 10:
  • Computer lab time to type essays
Friday, April 11:
  • Link Crew Lesson
  • HW:  Finish all 4 paragraphs of your Rough Draft at home - due Monday
