- "Epic" Activity:
- In your groups, choose a story from a book/movie/TV show that you think fits the six criteria of epic. Use story details to prove each criteria. Write these in your notes. We will share as a whole class.
- HW: Complete Right Word Practice 2 by tomorrow
Wednesday, October 15:
- Warm-Up
- Check Right Word Practice 2
- Read "Theseus" in groups. Underline or highlight the qualities the make the story a myth, AND the qualities that make the story an epic. We will have a discussion afterward.
- Right Word Comic Activity:
- Follow the directions on your handout to create a 6 frame comic strip that illustrates the 6 most difficult word usage rules for you (OR rules that you think will appear on the quiz). Due Monday.
Thursday, October 16:
- Test: Myths & Folktales
- If you are done early, you may work on the following:
- Right Word Comic Activity
- Fiction Friday reading log
Friday, October 17:
- Fiction Friday #3:
- Read your choice book. Continue to do so even after you finish your reading log.
- Complete your reading log: write one summary paragraph, one analytic paragraph, and one personal reaction paragraph. Follow the directions on the handout given to you. This is due at the end of the hour.
