Wednesday, November 5:
- Complete and go over Comma Practice 1
- Finish The Odyssey Background Books 1-8 notes
- The Odyssey Agree/Disagree game:
- One statement on a major theme of The Odyssey will be read aloud to you. You will decide whether you strongly agree, agree, disagree, or strongly disagree with the statement. Each corner of the room will represent one of the four answer choices. You will move to the corner of the room that represents your opinion on the statement. We will hold a short discussion on the reasons why students agree or disagree with the statement. We will repeat the steps with a new statement. This will go on until the end of the hour.
- HW: Comma Practice 2 due tomorrow!
Thursday, November 6:
- Warm-Up
- Check Comma Practice 2
- Begin reading Book 9 aloud in class together - how to read the text, reading strategies, and metacognitive thinking will be modeled
- Continue reading Book 9 in groups and complete the reading comprehension sheet
